Logitech unveils “world’s most advanced” mechanical gaming keyboard

17 September 2014

Logitech has unveiled the “world’s most advanced” mechanical gaming keyboard – the Logitech G910 Orion Spark.

The keyboard features the company’s new Romer-G mechanical switches, offering 25 percent faster actuation than other switches; improved durability (up to 70 million keystrokes); and intelligent illumination.

Like a lot of modern PC peripherals, the Orion comes with customisable lighting options – featuring 16.8 million colours, as well as the ability to attach your smartphone to the keyboard and turn it into an in-game stat screen.

The smartphone in-game screen requires Logitech Gaming software, which can be downloaded from the Apple and Android app stores (Arx Control mobile app).

The Orion also comes with 9 programmable macros and 113 key anti-ghosting support.

“This keyboard is the culmination of years of ongoing development by our engineering team, incorporating feedback from gamers and eSports athletes to develop a next-generation mechanical key,” said Vincent Tucker, director of Logitech gaming.

“Our team was charged with developing a keyboard that truly improves the gaming experience, and Orion Spark delivers.”

The Orion is compatible with Windows 7 and 8, and has the following basic specs:

  • Weight – 1.5kg
  • Length – 243.5mm/210mm
  • Width – 505mm
  • Height – 35.5mm
  • Cable – 6ft
