Pre-built high-end PCs come and go, but often part of the fun for enthusiasts is handpicking their own components, sourcing them from various retailers, and building a tailor made Frankenstein beast.
Origin, however, has come up with a machine that manages to stand out from the likes of the Asus Predators and Alienware gaming rigs. How so? Well, it has a water cooled Xbox 360 built into the chassis, and that’s just for starters.
Hardened PC gamers may be tempted to turn their noses at such a twisted concept. However, the innards of the PC itself are rather impressive. The entry level build features an overclocked 4GHz Intel Core i7 930 CPU, dual GTX 480 graphics cards, 6GBs of RAM, dual 50GB SSD drives, a 2TB storage drive, a Blu-ray burner, and to top it off nicely, a Creative Fatal1ty sound card.
Naturally, such a beast will set you back a fair amount; $7669 (R55,983) to be exact.
If you would even contemplate spending this much cash on a gaming rig, then you’re probably pretty loaded. However, for those who really hate having money, there is the “high-end” variant, which is a configuration laid out by CPU Magazine, and costs $16,999 (R124,092).
For the price of a decent car, you will get dual Intel Xeon X5680 CPUs overclocked to 4.3GHz, an EVGA SR2 motherboard, liquid cooling throughout, quad SLI EVGA GTX 480 graphics cards, 12GBs of RAM, four 50GB SSD drives, two 2TB storage drives, a built in Blue-ray burner, and a built in 8 channel HD audio sound card.
Sadly, Origin is only available in the USA. However, if you have this much cash lying around, you can probably make plan.
