While we still don’t have an official release date for the Oculus Rift, there’s a good chance we’ll know more when pre-orders of the virtual reality headset open on January 6th, at 8AM Pacific Time – that’s 6PM locally.
That news comes courtesy of the Oculus Team themselves.
They also made sure to mention that every Oculus Rift comes bundled with a free copy of Lucky’s Tale, by developer Playful. And pre-ordering the game will also mean a free version of EVE: Valkyrie.
Lucky’s Tale is charming adventure title that puts you in control of the lovable fox Lucky.
Designed exclusively for the Oculus Rift, Lucky’s Tale puts you inside a rather vibrant, inviting world, and tasks you with “racing with Lucky through lush trees, dodging swamp pits, battling menacing bosses, or mastering mini-games”.
While EVE: Valkyrie is a virtual reality multiplayer space combat game set in the EVE universe.
Built from the ground up for the Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR, it promises the most authentic and immersive dogfighting game yet.
It’s team-based, gorgeous to look at and more than likely going to garner a good deal of pre-orders for Oculus.
Oculus’ founder, Palmer Luckey, will also be taking part in a Reddit AMA at 6PM tomorrow, which means 4AM for us.
There’s no word on price, but that’ll be made clear the moment pre-orders are made available.
We’re excited. Having used the Oculus Rift, we know full well the potential it has, even if it is a little expensive.
