New monstrously powerful MSI GT80S laptops arrive on South African shores

We love ourselves some ridonculously expensive hardware, take this R475,000 super PC for example, especially a beefy gaming laptop.

In many ways they’re impractical, but it’s for that very reason that we love them so. Speaking of which, few gaming laptops encapsulate that monolithic nature quite like MSI’s GT80S Titan series.

Adorned with a Heroes of the Storm motif, the MSI GT80S 6QE is an example of the best a gaming laptop could be, sporting two GTX 980Ms in SLI and a blisteringly fast Skylake CPU for good measure.

  • Intel Core i7-6820HK
  • 32GB DDR4 RAM
  • 2x Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M in SLI
  • 256GB SSD
  • 18.4-inch full-HD display

R83,390 may seem like a lot of money, and it is, but that’s also a lot of high performance hardware.

As opposed to being the best a gaming laptop could be, as in the case of the GT80S 6QE, the MSI GT80S 6QF makes use of NVIDIA’s most powerful mobile GPUs yet, the GTX 980 – initially called the GTX 990M.

These mobile cards are as fast as their desktop variant, and the 6QF has two of them! It also comes equipped 64GB of DDR4 RAM as well as the epic i7-6930HQ Skylake CPU.

  • Intel Core i7-6920HQ
  • 64GB DDR4 RAM
  • 2x Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 GPUs in SLI
  • 2TB SSD
  • 18.4-inch full-HD display

We really want one of these beauties, but a R105,999 laptop would mean selling a kidney… or two. The scary thing is how close we were to making the trade.
