The Oculus Rift will come to Mac when Apple make “a good computer”

Apple Mac - Oculus Rift

It is up to Apple whether Oculus VR will support its Rift headset on Mac computers, founder Palmer Luckey recently told Shacknews.

“If they ever release a good computer, we will do it,” he said.

“It just boils down to the fact that Apple doesn’t prioritise high-end GPUs,“ said Luckey.

“You can buy a $6,000 Mac Pro with the top-of-the-line AMD FirePro D700, and it still doesn’t match our recommended specs.”

If Apple goes back to prioritising higher-end graphics processors like they used, said Luckey, Oculus would support Mac.

“Right now, there’s just not a single machine out there that supports it.”

Luckey’s full interview is embedded below.
