With all the noise about the newest generation of AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, it’s easy to forget that a perfectly serviceable generation of GPUs remains on the market.

The GTX 900 Series is steadily losing value as the specifications and pricing details of the 10 Series are revealed, causing various retailers to lower their pricing of GeForce GTX 900 GPUs, including the GTX 970 and GTX 980.

In particular, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti is being both overshadowed and outperformed by the new Pascal boards.

The main problem with Pascal’s performance boost is that the newer cards have a lower retail price and more power than the GTX 980 Ti, giving consumers no reason to purchase the now-overpriced graphics card.

Due to the unexpected price-to-power efficiency of the Pascal cards, retailers have to begun to drastically lower the pricing of the GeForce GTX 980 Ti, offering consumers a powerful GPU at a reasonable price.

If you are a budget-oriented gamer who still wants a GeForce GTX 980 Ti, there are also tons of second-hand Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti’s for sale at a reasonable price on various online platforms.

Below are some of the discounts on offer from online retailers for new Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti graphics cards:

The only reason that the gtx 1070 can keep with a REFERENCE 980 ti is because of the higher clockspeed the 980 ti is better in everyway, especially the custom overclocked versions and it’s a overclocking beast compared to nvidia’s new cards that had flickering issues after release, which luckily have been fixed. The rendering quality of the 980 ti is better then a gtx 1080 for example, more cuda cores, more texture units and so on. These days everyone just jumps to the card with the higher frame rate which makes sense but after a lot of research i went for a brand new Gigabyte G1 GTX 980 ti for R8000. The 980 ti benches that they compare to 1070 and 1080 is a bunch of lies or I am just lucky that my i5 setup gets similar frames to a 1080 and blows the 1070 out the water.
