PlayStation’s global head of marketing and sales, Jim Ryan, has revealed why the PlayStation NEO wasn’t at Sony’s E3 2016 conference.
In an interview with MCVUK, Ryan highlighted that Sony wanted to purely focus on games.
“We had such a strong and, I’d say, pure story about games,” said Ryan.
“You are not alone in making the comment – and I think it is a legitimate comment – about only just getting going on the games side of things on PS4.”
“I think that needed to be addressed, and by focusing exclusively on the games last night, hopefully we have laid that to bogey to rest.”
Ryan stated that Sony will unveil the PlayStation Neo when they are ready to demonstrate it properly.

In other words: “We’d like to sell as much of our existing older stock without people holding out on us, especially them fools that don’t know about this newer hardware coming”.
Probably not the case for everyone but ultimately this is one of the reasons why I’m holding out personally…over and above waiting for some of the few games that I’d actually like to get on a PS4 to drop in price when they reach the platinum line.
