MTN is giving away R800,000 in prize money in a tournament run on its new GameZBoost-based subscription gaming platform.
The R2-a-day service launched in November offers subscribers access to over 350 HTML5 games.
To participate in the tournament, you must subscribe to GameZBoost and play in at least one of the satellite events held over 8 weeks.
Each week will feature a new game and R50,000 in prize money.
The details of the tournaments are as follows:
- Satellite Event 1: Candy Slingshot. Highest score wins. Midnight on 1 Dec 2016 to 23:59 on 7 December 2016.
- Satellite Event 2: Cop Chase. Highest score wins. Midnight on 8 Dec 2016 to 23:59 on 14 December 2016.
- Satellite Event 3: Mouse Pop. Highest score wins. Midnight on 15 Dec 2016 to 23:59 on 21 December 2016.
- Satellite Event 4: Candy Swipe. Highest score wins. midnight on 22 Dec 2016 to 23:59 on 28 December 2016.
- Satellite Event 5: Penalty Kicks. Highest score wins. Midnight on 29 Dec 2016 to 23:59 on 4 January 2017.
- Satellite Event 6: Space Shoot Arcade. Highest score wins. Midnight on 5 January 2017 to 23:59 on 11 January 2017.
- Satellite Event 7: Circle Runner. Highest score wins. Midnight on 12 January 2017 to 23:59 on 18 January 2017.
- Satellite Event 8: Tower Jelly. Highest score wins. Midnight on 19 January 2017 to 23:59 on 25 January 2017.
Grand Finale
The winners of each of the satellite events (you may only win one of the 8) will automatically go through to the Grand Finale.
It will be a live, single-elimination tournament held on 11 February 2017 with R400,000 in prize money up for grabs.
Games will be confirmed at the event. The winner will get R300,000 and the runner-up R100,000.
Travel costs to the tournament will be covered by the organisers.
