WhatsApp has revealed it now has over 1 billion daily active users.

The messaging service also boasts an average of 55 billion messages sent per day.

Other statistics released by WhatsApp show that users share 4.5 billion photos and 1 billion videos every day.

The messaging service has seen massive growth in recent years, with the company announcing in 2016 that its monthly active user count passed 1 billion. That figure has since grown to 1.3 billion.

“As we celebrate this milestone, we’re committed more than ever to bringing you more useful features to enjoy, while delivering the reliability, simplicity, and security you expect with WhatsApp,” it said.
