4 important PS Vita reveals

PS Vita PS4

The PS Vita’s upcoming library has been looking a little dry up until now, but thanks to Sony’s Gamescom press conference, the dual-stick handheld’s future is appearing much brighter after some great announcements.

Borderlands 2

Gearbox’s highly-acclaimed loot-‘n-shoot Borderlands 2 is making its way to the PS Vita, which is great considering the platform needs some more FPSs – something its designed to cater for.

The colourful shooter RPG-hybrid should look great on the PS Vita’s crisp screen, and should be ideal for long trips and late nights given that the game has near-endless replayability.

Murasaki Baby

Murasaki Baby is the new game from Ovosonico, which takes the form of a side-scrolling adventure.

The game has an incredible visual style, resembling a hand-sketched animation, with monochromatic tones and vivid pinks.

Players need to use gestures and touches to control and help a young girl navigate a dangerous and unpredictable world.

Big Fest

Big Fest is one of the more interesting and unique games announced in a while.

It  is a management game where you step into the role of a musical festival promoter, which requires you to organise your festival, find unsigned bands, promote them, make sure your venue is running smoothly and most importantly put on a great show.

The game uses some unique touch features and will offer something unique for gamers on the prowl for a new idea.

FEZ

Phil Fish’s unique 2D/3D mind-bending platformer is making its way to the PS Vita, and what better platform than Sony’s handheld?

The game won numerous awards and praises from the critics and gaming community, and maybe its popularity on the Vita can lure Phil Fish back to the game development scene?

There is no current release date for the Sony console and handheld versions.

Some other indie games were announced for PS4 and PS3, which are also headed to the PS Vita, boosting its upcoming library even more.
