Counter-Strike 1.6 is now playable on android devices thanks to a user-created tweak.
A Counter-Strike player named Alibek Omarov has tweaked Counter-Strike 1.6 to run on Android operating systems.
The impressive thing about Counter-Strike for Android is that it is not a recreation or mobile app – it is the legitimate version of Counter-Strike 1.6 running on an Android platform.
This means that servers and multiplayer modes are fully available and the game files are exactly the same.
The control system has been modified for a touch screen, and although it is relatively inaccurate and difficult, it still works.
If you prefer to use a keyboard and mouse, simply connect peripherals to your Android phone or tablet.
In order to play Counter-Strike 1.6 on your Android device, you will need to have the game files installed on a PC already.
The installation process is relatively straightforward, and all required files and instructions can be found here.
