Vodacom recently published its end-of-financial-year results, including statistics on how many South Africans use their service, how much they consume, and the most popular contracts.

Out of 14.2 million customers, the average user consumes 572 MB a month.

Speaking to BusinessTech, Vodacom Group CEO Shameel Joosub said that for contract customers, the average monthly usage climbs to 1.2 – 1.3 GB, but is device dependent.

He specifically noted that higher-end devices like the iPhone consumed up to 1.5 GB a month.
