So although E3 technically only begins tomorrow, it’s pretty much safe to say that in reality it is well and truly under way. Microsoft kicked things off a bit earlier this evening, and despite the broader consensus being that their conference was disappointing, they did share a few interesting new developments. Then there was EA, who impressed the crowds with Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and StarWars: The Old Republic.
However, the thing which has excited me the most so far is a 6 minute gameplay demonstration of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, with creative head Tod Howard guiding us through the entire thing.

We have been following Skyrim very closely over the past few weeks, and suffice to say it is easily one of the most exciting games of 2011. Don’t be surprised if the following video causes your own personal hype-o-meter to self destruct.
Skyrim is due out on 11 November, 2011, and is being release for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
