On the first day of the Capcom Highlights presentation, the developer revealed that players can now use the character creator before the game’s release on March 22.
The Character Creator and Storage application, which can be downloaded for free, will allow players to create their Arisen and main pawn and use the abundant options and sliders to design the perfect character appearance for each.
Up to five versions of the Arisen and main pawn can each be saved and the data can then be transferred to the game when it launches.
While many fans of the series were hoping for Capcom to announce a full demo for the highly anticipated RPG, this chance to at least design your characters is a welcome appetiser.
For many players, character creation can take an hour or two as they fine-tune who they’ll be playing with, so this should allow for an almost instant jump into the action on 22 March.
You also don’t need to have pre-ordered Dragon’s Dogma 2 to download the Character Creator and Storage application.
Along with the Character Creator and Storage, the presentation also revealed that Capcom is working with several notable YouTubers to create Official Pawns that will then be made available to players to recruit in-game.
The content creators include in this can be seen here, and the Official Pawns they create will differ from regular pawns in a few ways:
- Their name is displayed in a different colour.
- There is no Rift Crystal cost when hiring Official Pawns up to level 10.
- Once hired, their equipment cannot be changed.
- They do not appear in certain features such as daily and overall rankings.
- Some may have a limited availability period.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 launches on 22 March for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
