Deep Silver has announced that its fantasy-themed action-RPG Risen 2 will be released on 27 April, 2012.
Risen 2 takes the action from a traditional fantasy setting to the swashbuckling harbour city of Caldera. Expect guns, sea monsters, boats and all the other stuff you’d expect to find in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
Unlike most RPGs, Risen 2 does not give the player the option to choose a character or class. Players gain experience points by questing and killing stuff, and level up their heroes using learning points. Learning points can be spent with Trainers.
Heroes can use a wide variety of weapons, or if players choose to focus on the mage path they can customize their hero to be more proficient with magic.
The game is semi-open world, where each island represents a separate area with its own loading screen.
Risen 2 is being released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
