The annual Spike TV Video Game Awards are happening next month, and it’s a special one as the VGAs will celebrate its 10th year running.
For those who may not know, this is the Oscars of the video game industry, with a board of judges comprised out of the most well-known and respected gaming journalists.
Among the list is Geoff Keighley (Host / Executive Producer, SPIKETV); Andy McNamara (Editor in Chief, Game Informer Magazine); Ludwig Kietzmann (Editor in Chief, Joystiq); Jeff Gerstmann (Editor in Chief, Giant Bomb); Justin Calvert (Executive Editor, Gamespot); and Tal Blevins (VP Games Content, IGN Entertainment) just to name a few.
There are some big awards on offer, but obviously the biggest prize is the Game of the Year award. This year’s nominees include Assassin’s Creed III, Dishonored, Mass Effect 3, Journey, and The Walking Dead: The Game.
A full list of nominees can be found on the official VGA website.
Samuel L. Jackson returns to host the show, which will also be filled with secret game trailers and big announcements.
The 2012 Video Game Awards will take place on 7 December 2012.
