EVE Online has a cult following among the PC community, and the sci-fi MMO hosted its largest ever space battle when over 4,000 gamers took to the virtual stars to blow one another up.

EVE Online saw the TEST Alliance and the Goonswarm-led CFC, two of the biggest factions in the game, go head-to-head in a battle that lasted over five hours and racked up some serious damage.

The battle also saw more than 2,900 ships destroyed, with the CFC coming out on top after the titanic encounter.

The attack by the CFC was the end-game of a strategy which has been in action for over two-months. The CFC planned the attack as the final invasion of TEST’s home region.
