During their Gamescom 2013 presentation, Sony announced that the 12GB PS3, and the PS Vita will be getting price cuts in Europe and the US. Sony also said that PS Vita memory cards would see a significant price cut.
No word yet from PlayStation SA, or Sony’s official distributor Ster Kinekor Entertainment on whether these price cuts will reach our shores.
The PlayStation 3 12GB model will be priced at €199 in Europe, and $199 in the US.
Likewise, the PS Vita (Wi-fi) will be priced at €199 in Europe, and $199 in the US.
How will those prices reach our shores? I bought a Vita from BT Games for R1999 which equates to +-$199. Price is now sitting at R2199.90. SA Vita prices are already in line with those price cuts and you get a free memory card and games. The only thing I’m bummed about is paying R800 for the 32gb memory card.
