Uncharted 4’s game director, Justin Richmond, has left Naughty Dog to pursue a career at League of Legends developer, Riot Games.
Richmond’s departure comes less than a month after Naughty Dog creative director, and co-director on the Uncharted series, Amy Hennig left the studio after she was reportedly “forced out” by colleagues Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley.
These claims have since been denied by Naughty Dog.
Sony Computer Entertainment of America confirmed Richmond’s departure, but stated Uncharted’s development and release would “not be impacted” by the move.
“I love the company and the people and know that they will continue to create awesome games going forward. On a happier note, after careful consideration and exploration I have joined Riot Games. There is some really innovative stuff going on here that I can’t wait to be a part of,” said Richmond.
Two key members of the Uncharted crew leaving in the same month – do you think this will negatively affect the latest title in the series? Let us know in the comments and forum.
