Sony makes moves on Metal Gear Solid movie

7 June 2014

Sony Pictures is in talks with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) to bring Solid Snake to the big screen.

Talk of a Metal Gear Solid movie has been going on for sometime now – since 2007 in fact – but with Sony signalling their intention to get the ball rolling on this one, we might see progress being made.

The last time game maker Hideo Kojima and Konami made mention of the movie was in 2012 when it was announced that producer Avi Arad would be involved in the project. Arad is largely responsible for the current boom of superhero movies, having produced hits like Blade, X-Men, and Sony Pictures’ own Spider-Man series.

The one and only completed video game movie Arad produced, though, was 1993’s Double Dragon.

Do you think any movie will do Metal Gear Solid justice? Let us know in the comments and forum.
