Pokemon GO responsible for over 209 Police incidents in July

Pokemon Go players have been involved in hundreds of police incidents since the app launched, reports the BBC.

“Robberies, thefts, assaults and driving offences were among 290 incidents recorded across England and Wales throughout July.”

In one strange incident, over 30 people were involved in a brawl surrounding the popular game.

In another more disturbing incident, a man was found trying to lure children back to his home “as he had lots of Pokemon at his address”.

We have reached out to the South African Police Service for comment as to whether they have received similar reports in the country.
