Blizzard recently added its Top 500 ranking system into Overwatch, allowing players to compete for a spot in the Top 500 competitive players and earn rare rewards.
The reward for placing in the Top 500 in any given season is a rare animated spray which cannot be obtained by any other means.
As long as you made it into the Top 500 at some point during the season, you should receive a unique animated spray at the end of the season.
Each platform will have its own leaderboard, which are further seperated into regional leaderboards.
This means that European gamers aiming to place in the Top 500 do not need to compete against the best American gamers in order to do so.
The Top 500 system will soon be active on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. To qualify for a spot in the Top 500, you need to have a skill rating of 60 or above.
