A recent video posted by Youtuber R Tech shows the massive graphical gains you can expect from upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
The results show an increase of up to 7% when testing Nvidia cards and up to 20% in AMD cards when making the jump from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
This applies to both DirectX 9 and DirectX 11 titles and does not include more advanced APIs like the upcoming DirectX12, which is only compatible on Windows 10.
