Crytek still loves PC gamers despite Crysis 2 leak

15 February 2011

A few days ago a near complete version of Crytek’s upcoming sci-fi shooter, Crysis 2, was leaked to torrent sites. This time around it was the PC version of the game, but this sort of thing certainly is not a problem limited to PC gaming. It is quite common for Xbox 360 games to be leaked in a similar fashion (CoD: Black Ops, Halo: Reach, dozens more), and last week even the PS3 exclusive Killzone 3 fell victim to the scourge of pre-release piracy.

However, there is no doubt that the PC game industry suffers at the hands of piracy. Despite this, Crytek bossman Cevat Yerli reaffirmed is belief in PC gaming, releasing the following statement on MyCrysis.

“We are all still focused on delivering a great gaming experience to our true and honest fans. I hope you will enjoy Crysis 2 on PC, as we think it is our best PC game yet!

“We appreciate all of your continued support, and look forward to playing online with you soon!”

While the PC version can be downloaded from torrent sites right now, it is reportedly bug riddled, requiring a degree of tinkering to get running.
