The latest generation of graphics card has been available in South Africa for a while now, and although there are still some stock shortages, many local gamers are wondering which GPU will give them the best performance for their money.

Both Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 10 Series and AMD’s Radeon RX lineup are available from South African retailers, with the former focusing on high-end gaming performance and the latter on high-value entry-level graphics processing.

We have measured the pricing of each AMD and Nvidia graphics card against its respective PassMark score in order to create a performance-per-rand value score.

It is important to use South African pricing, as the best-value card internationally may not be the same as the best card to buy locally.

Because we want to depict an accurate difference in performance per rand, we have used pricing from a single source in order to avoid discrepancies in value score.
