You can play Star Citizen for free this weekend

18 August 2016
Star Citizen is free for the week

In honour of Gamescom 2016, Roberts Space Industries is allowing the public to play Star Citizen for free the entire weekend.

Titled Free Fly 2016, the event offers players a free trial to experience Star Citizen in its current stage of development.

Players will get to try out three ships: the Mustang Gamma, Sabre and Freelancer.

The game is still in Alpha and is not close to being completed, but some core features are already implemented, including free fly mode, racing, first-person mechanics, and online play.

You can sign up for the Free Fly here and play the Star Citizen Alpha until Monday 22 August.

Will you be playing Star Citizen this weekend? Let us know in the comments and forum.
