MyGaming recently reported on the opening of VRcade in Cape Town, the countries first social virtual-reality multiplayer arcade.
It turns out Capetonians may be spoiled for choice as another VR arcade, Virtual World, is currently up and running – making it South Africa’s first exclusive Virtual Reality arcade.
Virtual World focuses more on solitary experiences, putting you in two 4x3m play areas and using the HTC Vive head-mounted display and two motion controllers to take you out of this world and into a new one.
Over 80 sensors then precisely track your movement to bring you a truly immersive experience.
“Virtualworld was founded out of the passion of a handful of VR and gaming enthusiasts. Following virtual reality internationally, we decided it was finally time to bring this beautifully realistic and addictive technology to South Africa in the form of a virtual reality arcade and offer it to you all!”
