You can now play every Gamecube game on your PC

6 September 2016

While many are quick to point to piracy, emulation has and always will be a means for preserving games that are no longer available.

It’s exciting news for retro gamers that the GameCube now has its full library playable via the Dolphin emulator, according to a report by Eurogamer.

In truth, the majority of Gamecube games were emulated and playable years ago but there was always one long stand-out that kept the full library from being playable.

In the case of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, a “gargantuan” code rewrite was needed to allow the game to define its own memory.

You can read a the complete history and evolution of the Dolphin emulator by one of the program’s top coders on its official blog, here.
