Steam’s rating system is a tad broken.
For every informative and genuine review of a game there are dozen “funny reviews” that offer nothing to the casual buyer.
Add this to the user ranking system that allows a game with ten positive reviews to outrank a game with 50,000 positive reviews and it can be incredibly difficult to seperate the wheat from the chaff.
We took a look at the top-rated games according to Steam Database but also compared the number of reviews each game received and how many were positive and/or negative.
