The best multiplayer games still to come in 2016

Titanfall 2

We might be in October, but the best lineup of games are still to come in the next few months.

You might feel that there are no hardcore multiplayer games on the horizon, but you could not be more wrong.

Here are all of the best multiplayer games headed to console and PC in the next few weeks.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

Hands-down the greatest Call of Duty in the past decade.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, will be releasing with the latest Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It will also be available as a pre-order title for those who pre-order Infinite Warfare.

The game will come with the classic campaign as well as the acclaimed multiplayer experience. Originally, the game will release with 10 multiplayer maps to play on, with more to release later in 2016.

The game will have the full progression system from the original game in all its ,enhanced texture glory. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Titanfall 2

Back in 2014, the creators of Call of Duty formed their own studio to take on the gaming world. Respawn Entertainment was born, with their first title, Titanfall.

Two years later and we are craving more, and luckily the sequel to the fast-paced multiplayer game is right around the corner.

Titanfall 2 will take players from across platforms (yes no longer an Xbox exclusive) on an action-packed experience as they hop into their Titans and just tear things up.

The game will now have a single player campaign mode, but the highlight of the experience is the multiplayer.

New maps, new Titans, and a new customization system that will see you built your loadouts and characters, to really stand out of the pack. What makes Titanfall so epic is its flawless transition from on-foot combat to epic robot battles.

Watch Dogs 2

Watch Dogs already had quite an off-beat multiplayer experience and with Watch Dogs 2, the game is looking to further expand its options by letting you hack with friends in a new co-op mode.

The game will have dedicated co-op missions that have multiple paths to choose from for each player, as well as just the usual free-roam mode which can be played with friends.

You can head into these co-op missions, or just mess around with the world around you.

The Bounty mode in Watch Dogs 2 will set 3 players against one as you try and hunt down the player with the bounty on his head.

The player can flee to earn points, but if he decides to stay and fight, he will be awarded even more.

Lastly, the original hacking mode returns in Watch Dogs 2, that will see you target players and hack them. You will then need to try and blend into your surroundings as you win the match.

Steep

For all you action sports fans out there, you will be happy to know that Ubisoft’s upcoming winter sports game Steep will support 4-player co-op.

If I can gather anything from the game, it’s that it will see you and three friends snowboarding down hills in the Alps as you try and compete with other player’s scores, or just have fun with it.

Paragliding, snowboarding, or even getting to the bottom in a wingsuit, it is your sport game so you decide what suits you best.

Gears of War 4

Gears of War has always been a great multiplayer game. Its epic co-op story mode adds a new way to play through a game with a friend and its PvP mode has taken cover-based action to a new level.

Gears of War 4, takes things to the next step with its new cover mechanics, weapons, maps, and customization, all built using the gorgeous Unreal Engine 4.

If you felt that Gears of War: Ultimate Edition lacked anything new, then Gears of War 4 will be the game for you. I cannot wait to saw people in half, a must in all Gears of War games.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call of Duty has always been an iconic multiplayer experience, and Infinite Warfare adds new specialization classes, new weapons, and of course new maps.

The game’s multiplayer will improve on Black Ops III’s class system, and brings in Combat Rigs that will let players choose from a Merc to a Phantom, each with their own unique skills and abilities.

The Combat Rigs not only change your special abilities, but even your movement.

PS4 and Xbox One owners will be able to get their hands on the beta which is going live later in October.
