Microsoft is bringing custom tournaments to the Xbox app, allowing gamers to compete in public competitive arenas regardless of whether they are on Windows 10 or Xbox One.

The company has announced the implementation of Xbox Arena, a built-in tournament hosting feature which allows for cross-platform play and built-in eSports functionality.

The feature allows for PC and Xbox One gamers to join or host tournaments for their favourite games without using a third-party website or hosting service.

Xbox Arena also makes use of the new Xbox Live Clubs feature to encourage player correspondence and competition and supports a number of titles across the Play Anywhere platform.

Xbox Arena is currently only available to Xbox One Preview members.
