Ubisoft says it will remove explicit nudity from Watch Dogs 2

Ubisoft has apologised for the explicit nudity in Watch Dogs 2, saying that it will remove all excessive nudity from the game.

This follows recent controversy after a PSN user was banned for sharing an in-game snapshot of a fully-rendered vagina in Watch Dogs 2.

The user shared the image to twitter via the PlayStation 4’s sharing features, and was subsequently issued with a suspension from PSN.

Speaking to Polygon, Ubisoft said that it is working on a patch to remove that explicit NPC texture and ensure that players can safely share in-game content via PSN.

Below is the full statement from Ubisoft:

We’re aware that one of the NPC models in Watch Dogs 2 is rendered in a way that is particularly explicit. While Watch Dogs 2 is a mature-rated game, we apologize and will update this NPC model to make it more consistent with other NPC models in the game in a patch to be released this week.

We also are working with our first-party partners to ensure that players can continue to play and share all content from the game within the bounds of the first parties’ respective codes of conduct.

Meanwhile, Sony has extended the suspended user’s temporary ban from two weeks to one month.
