The Steam Autumn sale kicked off on 23 November, offering a number of fantastic deals to PC Gamers.
Along with October’s Halloween sale, this would make it the second big Steam sale in just over a month, with an additional Christmas sale expected towards the end of December.
As expected, many of the same games have gone on sale, which begs the question – which of Steam’s sales offer the best value?
Historically, the biggest price drops have come during the Spring sale and in Daily/Weekend deals prior to the Halloween sale.
Furthermore, games that feature in Steam’s November sale traditionally do not drop to a lower price point in December sales.
There are natural outliers to this rule and some purchasers may be burnt as game prices rise or fall in the December sale, but statistics show the discounts are almost identical between the two sales.
This works both ways, as DOOM and Just Cause 3 are at historic lows this sale and are unlikely to drop further in the next few sales.
As always, if you spot a good deal and you know plan to play the game immediately we still recommend buying the game.
However if you know you may not touch the game until the next sale, that money may be put to better use elsewhere.
