Mega8 launches R50,000 Dota 2 Summer Invitational tournament

Mega8 is hosting a R50,000 Summer Invitational Dota 2 tournament ahead of its local competitive gaming platform.

The tournament will feature the top eight Dota 2 teams in South Africa battling it out for a share of R50,000.

The Summer Invitational Dota 2 tournament will be held from 2-4 December and broadcasted live from Cape Town on YouTube and Twitch.

  • White Rabbit Gaming
  • Exdee Gaming
  • Carbon
  • XTC
  • Bravado Gaming
  • Ventus Pink
  • Flipsid3 Tactics

Mega8 is a South African eSports platform which plans to launch public leagues and tournaments in 2017 open to all local gamers.

The platform will host four ten-team leagues and a ladder league for both CS:GO and Dota 2. Each league will offer prize money from the first division all the way through to the ladder division.

The year-long series of leagues and LAN tournaments will have a similar structure to Telkom’s DGL ladder.
