Hello Games just released a massive update for No Man’s Sky, adding several long-awaited features to the game.
The 1.1 patch is titled the Foundation Update, and will be the first of many free updates for the controversial space exploration game.
It is apparent that Sean Murray and the team at Hello Games have been hard at work on the promised free content updates for No Man’s Sky, as the Foundation Update implements a host of brand-new features along with interface and gameplay improvements.
Most notably, the update adds base-building mechanics to the game, allowing you to construct outposts using modular structures and recruit aliens to help out at your base.
Building a base will allow you to research technology more efficiently, create indoor farming labs, and send cargo to purchaseable freighters in orbit for trade missions.
Players will also be able to select one of three game modes when playing No Man’s Sky: Normal, Creative, and Survival.
The Foundation Update implements a variety of UI changes and gameplay fixes, and adds many new resources and items to the game.
