The December 2016 Steam Hardware and Software Survey shows that more than half of Steam’s reported users are now using Windows 10.

50.35% of Steam users are now using Windows 10, with only 33.87% of gamers still using Windows 7.

Windows users are no longer able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free, but it seems that gamers are still adopting the newer operating system in favour of Windows 7, albeit at a slower rate.

  • Windows 10 64 bit – 49.10%
  • Windows 10 32 bit – 1.25%
  • Windows 7 64 bit – 28.60%
  • Windows 7 32 bit – 5.27%
  • Windows 8.1 64 bit – 8.49%
