Telkom has announced that the prize pool for its 2017 DGL Masters competitive gaming tournament will be R1.5 million.

The DGL Masters sees the biggest gaming organisations in South Africa competing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and FIFA 17.

10 of the best multi-gaming organisations in South Africa will field teams for each game and compete for a share of the prize pool.

The newly-implemented DGL Masters FIFA tournaments are open to all FIFA players attending the Masters events and will feature a combined prize pool of R120,000.

Bravado Gaming placed first in the DGL Masters Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament last year, with White Rabbit Gaming winning the Dota 2 title.

The DGL Masters prize pool does not include the prize pool for the two Masters Cup tournaments to be held earlier in the year, which boast a prize pool of R110,000 each.
