Best games you can play this week — Spandex and speed

This week sees the another clash of superheroes and video game icons, along with a turbo-charged challenger in the racing genre.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite

19 September 2017 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

The Marvel vs. Capcom games are always a lot of fun, promising huge rosters and plenty of frantic fighting action, although Infinite comes with a few twists.

First is the new Infinity Stones mechanic, which lets you pick one of the titular stones that comes with a special ability. Infinite also has a proper story mode, and it looks surprisingly deep and detailed.

owever, long-term fans should know that the roster has cut out the X-Men entirely. That said, there’s still the likes of Ryu, Rocket Racoon, Spider-Man, Mega Man, and a whole host of other characters to beat the hell out of your friends with.

Project Cars 2

22 September 2017 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

The original Project Cars was an impressive, crowdfunded debut that definitely gave the other bigger-name racing sims a run for their money, and the sequel promises much, much more.

Loads more licensed cars, dynamic weather, rally-cross action, VR action, and 12K triple-monitor support on PC. If the solid gameplay foundations remain in-tact, this could be one of the racers of the year.
