Session could be the Skate sequel we never got

20 September 2017

Fans of skateboarding and video games will unanimously agree that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 and Skate 3 were the pinnacle of skating games. However, the THPS series has lost its lustre and Skate has been dormant for quite some time now.

Thankfully, a new skating sim is in development — Session.

Session comes from French developers crea-ture Studios, and looks to embrace the heart and soul of EA’s Skate franchise, but bring it to the current generation of consoles and PC.

While Session takes cues from the likes of Skate, it has it’s own identity. The developers explain that they don’t want players to worry about how much point their tricks are worth, but rather the goal of mastering tricks and the dynamic controls.

That idea extends to the camera system too, as it’s inspired by the late 90’s skate movies, giving the player a new and more dynamic perspective on their tricks and the opportunity to work on their very own in-game movie.

The game is still in development, with no clear release date at the moment, but the studio is updating eager fans via it’s Facebook page.
