PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was the bestselling game on Steam in South Africa in August, according to SteamSpy.

Game developer Sergey Galyonkin collects data from Steam as part of the SteamSpy project, providing insight into the PC gaming platform.

While Valve does not release official sales figures for Steam, Galyonkin uses data from user profiles to extrapolate findings – dividing them into country categories.

With Steam currently the dominant online platform for PC gaming, data from the service provides a good indication of popular PC titles in SA.
