Overwatch League draws big viewership for first matches

The Overwatch League held its first matches this week, which drew a large viewership online.

According to Engadget, six teams competed in the debut matches at the Blizzard Los Angeles eSports arena – with 360,000 viewers watching the action on Twitch.

12 teams from the Overwatch League played over three days during the tournament, which is said to have received huge financial backing.

Players in the league are professional gamers and all receive a minimum salary of $50,000.
