Valve releases new game set in Portal universe

The creator of the Half-Life and Portal games, Valve, released a new game called Aperture Desk Job.

This hilarious game is free on Steam and is packed with tons of Portal universe lore.

Aperture Desk Job is a short game meant to teach the Steam Deck’s controls to new users, but you don’t actually need a Steam Deck to play it.

It does not support a mouse and keyboard, however, so if you do not own a Steam Deck, you will need to use a controller.

The player takes on the role of a new hire at Aperture Science as a product inspector who tests toilets. Yes, you read that correctly.

You are guided through basic training by a very talkative personality core named Grady, who you can annoy and provoke by not doing as instructed – resulting in some hilarious dialogue.

Seeing as this is Aperture Science Lab, things quickly go wrong and become hazardous, explosive, and outright whacky.

The good news for Valve fans is that Aperture Desk Job might only be a sneak peek of what is to come.

In a recent interview with Axios, Valve designer Greg Coomer has mentioned that “There are multiple games in development right now at Valve, and I think they’re pretty exciting ones.”
