The best games coming in April 2022

April may not be the biggest month for new titles but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few titles worth you time.

Here are the best games coming out in April.

tERRORbane – 1 April

Platforms: PC and Switch.

A game from BitNine Studio, tERRORbane, provides a unique, fourth-wall-breaking spin on the tried and tested fantasy RPG formulae.

The player’s journey will constantly be commented on by the game’s developer and is riddled with bugs and errors that the player can use to their advantage to succeed.

tERRORbane looks to be a title dripping with satirical humour and will most likely poke fun at RPG tropes to provide a fresh and enjoyable experience.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – 5 April

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.

LEGO games are a long-standing staple in gaming, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga promises to be the Ultimate LEGO Star Wars experience.

The adventure game will include many iconic characters from the Star Wars universe as players go through each of the nine movies allowing you to play as whoever you’d prefer.

It also has the iconic mumble mode of all previous LEGO games, so if you were put off by the characters talking normally, there’s no need to be concerned.

Uragun – 12 April

Platforms: PC.

Uragun is a top-down mech-shooter with hordes of enemies and intense combat – what’s not to like?

In Uragun, you take control of a mech suit that has become sentient and must fight its way through a world overrun by corrupted AI as it searches for its missing pilot.

The game will consist of short, intense and tightly-measured challenges where you’ll need to use its fast-paced and dynamic combat system to progress.

As you play, you’ll also unlock new weapons and special skills that you can use to customise your mech to your preferred playstyle.

Back 4 Blood: Tunnels of Terror – 12 April

Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Back 4 Blood, the frenetic, action-packed zombie shooter, will be getting a substantial DLC in April – something to look forward to if you enjoyed the game.

The DLC, Tunnels of Terror, will add an all-new co-op activity called Ridden Hives, where you explore seven different dungeons and two new playable characters: Sharice and Heng.

Additionally, the DLC will include a host of new weapons, skins and a new difficulty level for players looking for an extra challenge.

Of particular note is that if at least one player in a party has purchased the expansion, all other players will have access to it.

The Serpent Rogue – 26 April

Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch.

The Serpent Rogue is an action-adventure game set in a medieval fantasy world under threat from a terrible evil known as the Serpent Rogue.

You will play as an alchemist known as The Warden and must combat this threat by brewing potions of various types – such as those that allow you to shapeshift or cure plagues.

Your choices will also have consequences, as each action you take will create interesting sequences of events in the world and its characters.
