PlayStation 5 controller is getting an update for PC gamers

14 April 2022

Sony’s DualSense controller will soon be getting a firmware update for both Windows PC and Mac devices.

At this point in time, it is impossible to update the DualSense controller without having a PS5.

Therefore, this update is welcome news for many fans who have begged for this update since the release of the PlayStation 5 back in 2020.

Sony leaked the information on its PlayStation website before it was quickly removed.

However, nothing is truly deleted from the internet, and a cached version of the page can be viewed here.

Although gamers who own the new controller also own a PS5, many PC enthusiasts have bought the DualSense as their chosen controller for all their PC gaming needs.

These gamers have voiced their concerns regarding the inability to update the controller’s firmware for some time now, and Sony has clearly taken notice.

With Sony’s recent expansion to the PC platform, it is clear that the studio is trying to build a larger audience of PC gamers.

This is evident through the releases of former console exclusives like Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn on PC.

Hopefully, Sony will confirm and release this update in the coming weeks.
