Sony has announced that PC players will now be able to update the firmware of their DualSense wireless controllers using Windows 11 and select Windows 10 devices without needing to connect to a PS5.
As part of the announcement, Sony details the steps that players will have to take to update their controllers through their Windows PC, including downloading Sony’s firmware updater app and connecting their wireless controller using a USB cable.
MyGaming previously reported that Sony had leaked the planned firmware update on its PlayStation website before it was quickly removed.
However, a cached version of the page was captured and caused excitement among PC fans who had bought the DualSense controller for their PC gaming needs.
The leak has now been proven true and is great news for these gamers.
Moving forward, users will be notified of new updates for the controller via the firmware app.
