Bethesda announced that Starfield and Redfall will only release in the first half of 2023.
The delay is to ensure that fans do not get unpolished and incomplete versions of these triple-A titles.
“The teams at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have incredible ambitions for their games, and we want to ensure that you receive the best, most polished versions of them,” said Bethesda.
Despite the disappointing news, the gaming giant also revealed that it will share the first gameplay deep dives for Redfall and Starfield soon — perhaps during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on 12 June.
Starfield was initially set to release on 11 November, the exact date that Skyrim launched in 2011.
Earlier this year, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer told Axios that he wanted even more people playing Starfield than Skyrim.
Arkane planned to release Redfall, where players can co-operate to defend a town from a horde of blood-sucking vampires, in September of this year.
