FatShark released a gameplay trailer about Warhammer 40,000: Darktide at the Summer Game Fest.
Though only two minutes long, the trailer showed off just how far the developer has come with their latest project.
Visually Darktide is a clear improvement over its predecessors and based on the gameplay we’ve seen, its core controls will be very similar to Vermintide.
In the trailer, we see brief snapshots of a team during a mission, including brutal ranged and melee combat from four different characters.
Notably, it is also certain that ranged combat will be far more important than it was in Vermintide, and guns will be primary weapons, rather than secondary options.
However, melee is still a central focus of the game, and characters are shown to hack through cultists with chainswords, service knives and hammers.
Overall this reveal should only enhance the excitement for this title, and hopefully, we will get a full gameplay demo in the coming months with developer commentary.
