Well-known video game insider and Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier shared on Twitter that there are no plans for a Bloodborne remake.
The news comes after a fan of the game asked Schreier if he could “leak” the existence of a Bloodborne remaster.
However, rather than leaking the game as requested, he did the opposite and confirmed that this project wasn’t in the works whatsoever.
“Can’t leak what doesn’t exist,” said Schreier.
Although it might not be surprising to hear that a remaster of Bloodborne isn’t in the works, it’s sad news for many fans.
This is because there have been calls in recent years from fans to see a remaster of Bloodborne on PlayStation 5 or PC in the future.
Despite this outcry, both PlayStation and FromSoftware have yet to do anything with the franchise since releasing the game’s The Old Hunters DLC in 2015.
However, according to Sacred Symbols host and video game reporter Colin Moriarty, the studio responsible for the Demon’s Souls PS5 remake, Bluepoint Games, is considering the development of a sequel to Bloodborne.
Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but based on what Schreier has now said, those hoping for a remaster of Bloodborne shouldn’t get their hopes up.
