The PS5 and PC game Forspoken is set to release next year in January and has released multiple trailers and teasers – the most recent on Twitter.

However, the reception to the short teaser on Twitter wasn’t what the developers were likely hoping for.

The 30-second teaser trailer showed the game’s impressive gameplay with a voice-over from main character Frey Holland.

The general consensus on the content of the dialogue has been predominately negative, with most voicing their concerns over how “cringe” it is.

Below is the tweet with the trailer.

While some commented on being excited to play the game, most pointed out that if the dialogue and story for it are poor, it will prove to be a painful experience.

Along with criticism, the teaser trailer has also sparked some creative users to create parody versions for other games such as God of War and Bloodborne – each following the same layout and using the same cringe tone.

Forspoken follows the journey of Frey Holland, a New Yorker who is transported to a fantasy world and gains magical powers.

The gameplay for Forspoken features visually stunning spell combinations that combine fast-paced combat with an open world.

However, Forspoken has been delayed several times and is now expected to release in January 2023.

We should expect more teaser content to hype up its eventual release.
