Introducing the XFX WarPad

6 July 2011

Are you the type of PC gamer that enjoys using a great sweeping mouse-motion to turn 180 degrees? Have the edges of your neoprene mouse pad been reduced to tatters from one too many fragfests? Are you constantly slashing your wrists open on the jagged edge of your desk? Does your mouse pad inexplicably shift orientation right when you were about to pwn that noob?

XFX may have the mousepad for you.

Introducing the XFX WarPad. It’s big, it’s soft, it has a rounded edge, and it clamps to your desk.

The surface area, including to the edge of the curve measures in at over 43cm long and over 35cm wide. The clamp can fit over a desk lip up to 5.1cm thick, and 5.1cm deep. The pad is 6mm thick with what I assume is high-grade foam rubber, the kind typically found on gaming mouse mats. The surface looks to be covered with a smooth fabric.

Having just launched, there is no indication of local pricing yet. Over on the XFX website the WarPad is selling for US$54.99 (±R370).
